Send A Healing Thought

My friend, Emma (from The Butterfly Hobbist), directed me onto a wonderful blog called "What's It To Hue?" http://amybeads.blogspot.com/ <

Recently, this wonderful lady - Amybeads - found out that two friends have recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
Those that know me very well know that my own Mum has had Cancer; not Breast Cancer, but Hodgkins Diesease - which is another aggressive form of cancer which attacks the lymph nodes.
Since being given the all clear, Mum has suffered terribly every winter with chest infections that reduce her to being on extremely strong antibiotics, and having to use her inhaler many many times a day. Two winters ago, her doctor finally admitted that something isn't right, and that her chest should have healed after 11 years!
So, she was sent to a fantastic hospital called Papworth Hospital in Cambridge. She's been for pretty much every test you can think of! Finally, she was told the tiniest of tiny tubes in her lungs are damaged beyond repair. And that she will have to have her immune system "topped up", as it were, as it was that badly hit when she had Cancer.
As you can tell, cancer means a lot to me, and so much so that me, Mum, and my younger sister are going to do that Race For Life in Bedford this summer. I don't know how I'll emotionally deal with this, as I was 11 years old when my Mum first got ill, and at 23 it still hurts!

Back on topic, Amybeads has asked all designers of jewellery, knitwear, crochet to create something with a pink and green theme.
The website crystal-cure.com says; "Although green is the primary color used with the heart chakra, it can also be effective to use pink stones (such as rose quartz or rhodonite) if more softness, affection and love seem to be needed in working with the heart chakra."
I've always been a big fan of the colours pink & green used together. Whether it be hair, jewellery, knitting or crochet.
I have created a necklace with this theme of pink & green, and hope you all enjoy <3

I bought the watch face about 3 years a go, and have wanted to use it in a project for a while now.

I hope we find a cure for all cancers at some point in our futures, and that no more families have to go through the agony that cancer brings xx

Handmade Weddings + Latest crafting

Hello all!

Much more positive post today. I'm looking into the start getting some ideas for my wedding. I will be making the jewellery for myself and the bridesmaids (obviously not the wedding rings haha).

I made a tresury on Etsy with my favourites <3 Handmade Weddings!

Here's some of the items I've made today that are very "Handmade Weddings" :)

I haven't made stitch markers in a while, so fancied making some more ;)

Bloody Cakes.. COOK!

Heyy all. As the title suggests, I'm having a lot of quarrels with my oven at the moment. I attempt to make cakes to cheer myself and his tallness up. But it just won't go my way. Bloody cakes..

I have an indesit oven, this was in the property when we moved in. I cook things on 200 degrees centigrade as 180 degrees isn't working. Hmph. On average, I end up leaving cakes in the oven for an hour and half! Now tell me that isn't mean't to be normal cooking time, and I shall agree.

Nonetheless, I've been on abit of a crafting bug trying to get my supplies used up as I keep buying more..

Here's the latest in the line of handmades for my Etsy & Folksy pages;

What do you think? I loveeeeee the bracelets, and am thinking of making my own jewellery as and when me and the tall one start planning our wedding *rolls eyes*..

My Folksy shopis still abit of a work in progress, but here it is for you all to have a gander at. Clicksy my tricksy little linky..

But yes. I'm going to return to my mean oven and it's non-cooking <3

Update & Spring Swap on Ravelry!

Hello all! Gosh it's been a while hasn't it?

Well, lots AND lots to show and tell. So lets knuckle down to it!

I have recently started a little crochet project for me. Something of the colourful variety.
A little Lucy style bag, just for me! What do we think of the colour choices? Very summery if you ask me!

I recently also took part in a swap on Ravelry, in the we-love-lucy group. Would you like to see the very pretty and yummy things I recieved!

The wooden plaque says "Be Yourself. Everyone Else Is Taken", which is very sweet. I love the fact it has "Be Yourself" on there as that is my favourite song by an American band called "Audioslave".

What else has been happening? Well my lovely friend, Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter, has had her little sparkly daughter and they decided to pay Lush a visit. Keep an eye on that blog update!! Because yours truely will be on there *hides* haha..

I've been creating like a mad woman of late, as I've had a lot of time off due to using holiday time before the new holiday year! I'm on my second week of freedom :P
So, here is all of the crafty funsies I've been working on;

Headbands<3

Everything Else<3

That's a lot of crafting being had by moi!! I've got a lot of other bits to finish before I can show you. Including the newly tidied and spruced craft room!!

I'll leave you with that for now ;) See you soon!!
