Goodbye 2011 - Hello 2012

Goodbye 2011. This year has been too rough in the sea of life, and 3 days a go I got rushed into hospital again. That evil kidney stone has returned again! But it's okay, caught it really early this time.

Next year we have really BIG plans, aside this new job which I've started ;) We've got a house we'll be renting from February 1st, we've started the whole idea of looking into how much it'll cost to do a small scale wedding, and other future malarky.

Yes I've left you intriged haha. I'm going to leave you with some of the images from this year, some highlights in the realm of craft, and life in general!

It's been a year of colour and lots of change! Lets keep it going next year, but with more highs!

Christmas Eve!!

My my hasn't this year flown by.

Today, we'll be getting the flat tidy again in readiness for us moving to a new house at the start of february. Yayyy!! So, I've been noseying at pretty new things for our new home, and what patterns I can use to make pretty things from my stash.

Speaking of stash, it has actually stayed at a constant for about 3 months :O That shows you how poorly I've been working through it :( Ah, I'll find something pretty to make that uses up lots.

I've been on a "liking" spree of patterns on Ravelry. Things I might like to try! Because we all know how bad I am at having UFOs! (Un finished objects to the non-crafters amongst us).
Just a few patterns I neeeeeeed to try!

But I really should return to the world of tidying and getting things pretty for Santa, need to make him some cookies for the road! Merry Christmas all <3

Reflections

This year has been very tough for me and Paul, we've between us had our fair share of ups and oh so horrible downs.

I decided to reflect on how hard it really has been this with Paul, because we've been taking it out on each other.. Which is what you always do in times of stress.

January: supposed to move into a lovely house, but had to move back out.

February: fallout from the stress of the move out- then back. Grandad Mac passed away.

March: talks began about Paul's grandad going into hospital for a hip replacement. Mum trying to get through a groggy cold and cough.

April: started looking for a new job as I wanted something closer to home.

May: Paul's 25th birthday. It was amazing, but expensive.

June: applied for Greggs. My sister's 18th party, such a palaver to organise!

July: my birthday, got an interview for Greggs. Paul failed driving test. Paul's grandad finally had his hip replaced.

August: left Lush and started greggs. Worked myself to death. Paul passed his driving test, and buys his first car!

September: rushed to hospital with Kidney Stones. Started at rushden greggs. Paul had car accident.

October: mine and Paul's 5 years together. Grandad Andrews passed away.

November: lost my job. Applied for MCE Insurance, and got offered the job 9 days after loosing my old job. Saw Alter Bridge, Theory of a Deadman, and Black Stone Cherry! Great night <3

December: I started my new job, I gained a truly valued friend, and really lovely person. My mum got rushed to hospital with a horrible chest infection.

There has been people this year that I couldn't have been without! Me and Paul wouldn't have got through this year without our families, our nearest and dearest friends, and some stragglers we picked up on the way.

I truly hope next year will get better, and that me and Paul can get on the things and plans we promised each other at the start of this year.

Every well wish on my blog has meant so much to me, and I cannot thank all of you enough. I love you all dearly, and I hope to keep you about going into 2012 cx

Amazing projects that inspire!

I decided today to have a nosey through some of my favourite blogs to get some craft inspiration, ready for Christmas, and the New Year.

This was an entry for a photography competition, which was posted on this lovely blog called "MeMe Rose". I would love to be a part one day of a project of this size!

Helsinki Cathedral is high on my list of places to visit, because of how beautiful this architecture truely is.

Ah Finland. How I love thee <3

Visit Helsinki

This lovely lady has only been crochetting for 18 months, and has completed a wide array of projects for her and her little family. The colour always draws my eyes to her posts <3

I saw this entry while noseying through my latest blog posts lists on the dashboard for Blogger. And thought "I would love to make something like these!". What an idea though? Have a read of these 30 Days for $30 posts!

I love love love Lucy's blog and her patterns. She recently bought one of my little funky phone covers.

And I cannot wait to know when it arrives :D With someone with so much talent buying from me, makes me have faith in craft!

I neeeeed to make one of these though for my ever expanding hook collection!

How cute is that! You can make it into a little tree topper, a pin cushion, a decoration. The possibilities are endless!!

I have many different yarns that MUST be used just for this project <3

-----x-----

It's blogs like these that give me hope that crafting will be carried through the generations. Whether it was our mothers, fathers, grandparents, or even great grandparents that taught us; I have hope that our children, and further into the future, these crafts will always be known!

Secret Parcel

Today, I recieved a parcel a lovely lady on Ravelry got me to look out for. I carefully opened this little parcel.

Ooo a card and some tissue paper. I wonder what the little card says!

"Chrissie,
Hope things get better for you really soon.
Hope you enjoy these
Cassie
x"

I wonder what it is!

Wee choccies handmade by Cassie, through her website: Foords Chocolates

Shall we take a closer peek at this secret parcel?

Some pumpkin shaped sweeties, and my favourite kind of endorphins;

Milk Chocolate Caramels! Nom nom nom!

Thank you so much Cassie, I really really appreciate this xxxx
